Shipsey juhib uurimisgruppi, mis t\u00f6\u00f6tab LHC-s kaugmeetodil, <strong>Fermilabis<\/strong> Illinoisis, kus asub ka konkureeriv kiirendi Tevatron. Pilt: CERN<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Uudised plaanide muutuse kohta tulid samal ajal kui septembris ja oktoobris esitati soovitus \u00a0pikendada Higgsi otsinguid ka Tevatronis. Plaanide kohaselt peaks Higgsi otsingud Tevatronis l\u00f5ppema 2011. aastal kuid kaks f\u00fc\u00fcsikutest koosnevat ekspertide kogu, millest \u00fches on ka Shipsey, soovitasid protsessi pikendada kuni 2014. aastani.<\/p>\n<p>Kuigi Tevatronis aset leidvad p\u00f5rked on oma 2TeV juures v\u00e4iksema energiaga kui LHC omad, on ta t\u00f6\u00f6s olnud kauem ning kogunud rohkem andmeid &#8211; eelis, mis v\u00f5ib jahis, mis otsib suurest hulgast tavap\u00e4rastest tulemustest erakordseid s\u00fcndmusi, otsustavaks osutuda.<\/p>\n<p>Soov LHC-s samas tempos j\u00e4tkata oleks olemas ka ilma Tevatroni sarnaste plaanideta, s\u00f5nas Shipsey. \u00a0Ta loodab, et m\u00f5lema aega pikendatakse.
