Pilt: Image by Kwei-Yu Chu\/LLNL<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Teemant-alasi kamber koosneb kahest vastamisi asetatud teemantist, millede vahele on asetatud kokkusurutud katseobjekt. Nii on v\u00f5imalik panna v\u00e4ikest(k\u00fcmned mikromeetrid v\u00f5i v\u00e4iksemad) katseobjekti tohutu r\u00f5hu alla &#8211; isegi \u00fcle 3 miljoni atmosf\u00e4\u00e4ri. Et teemantid on l\u00e4bipaistvad, siis saab katseobjekti kuumendamiseks tuhandete kraadideni kasutada laservalgust.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00fcsinikup\u00f5hise aerogeeli poorid t\u00e4ideti neooniga, et v\u00e4ltida terve objekti kokkuvajumist. J\u00e4rgnevalt asetati aerogeel tohutu r\u00f5hu ja temperatuuri alla (\u00fcle 200 000 atmosf\u00e4\u00e4ri ja \u00fcle 1227 kraadi Celsiuse j\u00e4rgi), t\u00e4nu millele s\u00fcsiniku aatomid olid sunnitud oma v\u00f5restikku muutma ning kristallilisi teemanteid moodustama.<\/p>\n<p>Uuel teemantil on v\u00e4ga v\u00e4ike tihedus, see sarnaneb prekursori tihedusega, milleks on 40 milligrammi kuupsentimeetri kohta &#8211; see on vaid ligi 40 korda tihedam kui \u00f5hk.<\/p>\n<p>Teemant-aerogeeli saaks rakendada \u00a0antipeegelduvate katete valmistamisel. Sellist katet kasutatakse l\u00e4\u00e4tsede ja teiste optiliste seadmete peegeldamise v\u00e4hendamiseks. Nii l\u00e4heb v\u00e4hem valgust kaduma ja paraneb s\u00fcsteemi efektiivsus.
