Hetkel asub \u201eVoyager 1\u201c Maast ligi 17,5 miljardi kilomeetri kaugusel, liikudes seejuures kiirusega  3,5a\u00fc aastas (ligikaudu 525 miljonit kilomeetrit aastas).  1977. aastal teele saadetud sond peaks l\u00e4hiaastatel j\u00f5udma heliopausini, ehk kohani, kus kohtuvad p\u00e4ikese ioontuul ja avakosmosest tulev ioontuul.
