Selle t\u00e4helt irduvaid leeke meenutav struktuur tekib siis, kui t\u00e4ht oma mateeriat kosmosesse v\u00e4ljastab. Varasemad NACO instrumendiga tehtud vaatlused on reprodutseeritud keskmise ketta n\u00e4ol. Keskel asuva v\u00e4ikese punase ringi diameeter on Maa orbiidist umbes neli ja pool korda suurem ning t\u00e4histab Betelgeuse n\u00e4htava pinna asukohta.
