Foto\u00b7: Ameerika F\u00fc\u00fcsika Selts<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nagu k\u00f5ik \u00fclirasked aatomid on element \u00e4\u00e4rmiselt 117 ebastabiilne, seega on tema eluiga pelgalt sekundi murdosa, enne, kui ta kergemateks aatomiteks ning osakesteks laguneb. Element toodeti p\u00f5rgatades Dubna \u00dchendatud Tuumauurimisinstituudi osakestekiirendis kaltsiumi aatom kokku paigalseisva berkeeliumi aatomiga. Uue elemendi s\u00fcnnist saadi teada uurides selle lagunemisel tekkinud t\u00fctarosakesi.<br \/>\nHoolimata oma l\u00fchikesest elueast on element 117 eluiga m\u00e4rksa pikem kui mitmetel teistel kergematel osakestel. Avastus kinnitab, et uus element, koos hiljuti s\u00fcnteesitud 116. ja 118. elemendiga\u00a0 moodustavad perioodilisus tabelis nn. stabiilsuses saare. S\u00fcnteesides j\u00e4rjest raskemaid elemente saab teada, kui kaugele stabiilne regioon ulatub.<br \/>\nKuigi l\u00fchikese elueaga aatomitele ei ole seni leitud praktilist rakendust, on \u00fcliraskete elementide s\u00fcntees h\u00e4davajalik erinevate mudelite testimiseks, mis selgitavad, kuidas neutronid ja prootonid tuumas paiknevad. Sellised mudelid aitavad selgitada laialt levinud elementide omavahelist suhet.
