Kahjuks on sel ka v\u00e4ga k\u00f5rge hind. Suur osa r\u00e4nipatarei paksusest ei panusta elektri tootmisesse. Seega toimiksid \u00f5hemad patareid sama h\u00e4sti ja vajaksid valmistamiseks v\u00e4hem materjali. Seni on nende tootmine aga olnud liiga keeruline, kuna kristalliline r\u00e4ni on habras ja rabe aine, kirjutab <a href=\"http:\/\/ecogeek.org\/component\/content\/article\/3721\">Ecogeek.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ioonkahur Hyperion \u201epommitab\u201c r\u00e4nikettaid vesiniku ioonidega v\u00e4ga t\u00e4pselt kontrollitud laengu abil. Need kuhjuvad pinna all 20 mikromeetri paksuseks kihiks. Peale \u201epommitamist\u201c transporditakse kettad ahju, kus ioonid paisuvad vesinikgaasiks ja heidavad endalt \u00f5hukese kristallilise r\u00e4ni kihi, mida nimetatakse <strong>laminaks<\/strong>.
