Manoa Hawaii \u00dclikooli Aaron Ohta juhitud laboris valmisid orgaanilised laserkiire abil juhtiavad \u00f5humullidest mikrorobotid.\u00a0Soollahuses olevate mullide liigutamiseks kasutati 400 mW v\u00f5imsusega (millivatt, 10<sup>-3<\/sup> W) ja 980 nm (nanomeeter, 10<sup>-9<\/sup> m) lainepikkusega infrapunalaseri kiirgust. Soollahus on hea soojusjuht, mis\u00f5ttu tekivad mulli l\u00e4hi\u00fcmbruse vedeliku kuumutamisel soojuslikud voolud. Laseri valgustatavast kuumast osast \u00fcritab vedelik liikuda teisel pool mullikest asuvasse jahedamasse piirkonda. Tekkinud voolu t\u00f5ttu liigub mullike laserkiire poole. Laseriga on v\u00f5imalik mullikest juhtida mistahes suunas maksimumkiirusega 4 mm\/s. Teadlased tegelevad n\u00fc\u00fcd mullikeste parve koordineerimisega, mis peaks p\u00e4\u00e4dima mikromaterjale transportivate ja neid grupeerivate mikrorobotparvedega.
