Saavutus \u00fchildab kaks hiljuti arendatud r\u00e4nitehnoloogiat, p\u00f5imunud footonite interferomeetri ja \u00fcksiku footoni detektori. Sisendlaser genereerib spontaanselt footonpaari, millest \u00fcks on natukene madalama sagedusega kui teine. Sageduste erinevus on signaaliks, et s\u00fcsteemis on kaks footonit.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>K\u00f5rgtehnoloogilise elektroonika ja optika uusimate teaduslike arengute ning praktiliste rakenduste vahel seisab sageli uue kohandamine vanade tootmismeetoditega. NIST teadlse Karin Srinivasani s\u00f5nul on uue 0,5*0.05 mm suuruse footongeneraatori tootmine lihtne kahel p\u00f5hjusel. Esiteks genereerib see footoneid, mis \u00fchilduvad telekommunikatsiooniseadmetes kasutusel oleva ligikaudu 1550 nm (10<sup>-9<\/sup> m) lainepikkusega valgusega. Teiseks on tegemist r\u00e4nip\u00f5hise tehnoloogiaga, mis on t\u00f6\u00f6stuslik standard ning h\u00f5lpsasti suurtele tootmisliinidele skaleeritav.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e4\u00e4ratud footon on \u00fcks kahest footonipaari osakesest, mille kohaloleku (olemasolu) m\u00e4\u00e4rab partnerfootoni tuvastamine (m\u00e4\u00e4rav footon). Footonid tuvastati vastavastatud r\u00e4nip\u00f5hisest footonpaar-generaator tehnoloogia abil.<\/p>\n<p>Footonpaari genereerimiseks pumpab laser footoneid materjalisse, mille aktiivsete optiliste omaduste t\u00f5ttu tekib paar sagedusnihkega footoneid. Uued footonid ilmuvad aga t\u00e4pselt \u00fchel ajal, mist\u00f5ttu on tekkehetke v\u00f5imatu ennustada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eFootonpaari \u00fche osakese tuvastamine annab meile teadmise partnerosakese otsimiseks. Footonpaaridele on mitmeid rakendusi, ent m\u00e4\u00e4ratud footoneid l\u00e4heb vaja n\u00e4iteks tulevikus kvantarvuti m\u00e4ludes informatsiooni talletamiseks,\u201c kommenteeris Srinivasan. Ta lisas, et t\u00f6\u00f6r\u00fchma valmistatud footongeneraatori efektiivsus ja t\u00f6\u00f6kindlus on katseliselt t\u00f5estatud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eTegemist on olulise, ent seni ebapraktilise arenguga, sest \u00fcksik footonallikas pole muude puuduste k\u00f5rval piisavalt ere, et seda m\u00f5nele funktsionaalsele kiibile paigutada,\u201c kommenteeris teadust\u00f6\u00f6d San Diego \u00dclikooli teadlane professor Shayan Mookherjea.
