In this work the iPhone has been used to investigate the acceleration due to<br \/>\ngravity and determine the coefficient of kinetic friction, \u03bc k of the iPhone as an object sliding<br \/>\ndown an inclined plane. This method is more accurate than that usually employed in the laboratory<br \/>\nwhere the \u2018fits and starts\u2019 of the block sliding down the inclined plane potentially invalidate the<br \/>\nrequired assumption that the velocity is constant.
