Teraline pinnaseproov filtreeriti enne anal\u00fc\u00fcsi s\u00f5elaga juuspeeneks tolmuks.<\/p>\n<p>CheMin instrument m\u00f5\u00f5dab proovilt r\u00f6ntgenkiirte difraktsioonhajumist, mis v\u00f5imaldab hinnata substraadi mineraalset ja elementset koostist. Curiosity on esimene r\u00f6ntgenspektromeetriga marsikulgur. Iga mineraal omab struktuuri ja omaduste abil tuvastatavat tekkeajalugu, mis v\u00f5imaldabki teadlastel r\u00f6ntgenspektromeetria abil Marsi geoajalugu hinnata.<\/p>\n<p>CheMin instrumendi t\u00f6\u00f6r\u00fchma teadlane David Bish kommenteeris tulemusi j\u00e4rgmiselt;\u201cSeni on Curiosity kogutud materjalide anal\u00fc\u00fcs olnud vastavuses meie esialgsete ettekujutustega Gale kraatri pinnasetetest. Tulemused on loonud selgema pildi kunagise m\u00e4rja keskkonnast kuivamisest. Iidsed marsikivimid, n\u00e4iteks konglomeraadid, viitavad kunagi voolanud veele. Kulguri missioon kestab plaani kohaselt kaks Maa aastat, mis vastab \u00fchele Marsi aastale. Missiooni eesm\u00e4rgiks on leida t\u00f5endeid Gale kraatri kunagisest sobilikkusest mikrobioloogilise elu alal hoidmiseks. Kulguril on t\u00f6\u00f6ks kasutada k\u00fcmme instrumenti.<\/p>\n<p>Curiosity maandus Marsil 6. augustil.
