Auto kiirus oli \u00fches suunas 1222 kilomeetrit tunnis, vastassuunas aga 1233 kilomeetrit tunnis. M\u00f5lemad kiirused \u00fcletasid helikiiruse kindlas kohas (1207 kilomeetrit tunnis) ning pealtvaatajad v\u00f5isid tunda l\u00f6\u00f6klaineid, mis tulid sellest, et auto \u00fcletas helikiiruse. Kiirusrekordi p\u00fcstitamine oli v\u00e4ga ohtlik mitmel p\u00f5hjusel. N\u00e4iteks oli oht, et esiosa alla tekkinud \u00f5husurve t\u00f5stab auto nina \u00f5hku ja auto lendab tahapoole uppi (samal ajal helist kiiremini liikudes!). Varjatum oht oli seotud auto rehvidega. Kuigi rattad olid valatud alumiiniumist, t\u00f5i kiirendus need rebenemise piirile. Ei olnud teada, kuidas rattad seda k\u00f5rbepinnal kihutades taluvad. Isegi v\u00e4ikesest objektist \u00fcle s\u00f5itmise tagaj\u00e4rjel oleks ratas t\u00fckkideks lennanud ja auto ennast puruks s\u00f5itnud. Kuna seda k\u00f5rbeosa oli kasutatud suurt\u00fckkide harjutuslaskmisteks, pidi meeskond osaliselt pinnasesse mattunud m\u00fcrsukestade ja muu sarnase eemaldamiseks kogu raja enne s\u00f5itu t\u00e4helepanelikult l\u00e4bi k\u00e4ima.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00f5ite asja ka teisiti ette kujutada: kui auto liigub \u00fcle helikiiruse, siis ratta osad liiguvad \u00fclemises asendis veel kaks korda kiiremini, palju kiiremini, kui mistahes p\u00fcssikuul.<\/p>\n<p>Allpool on rekordkatse tegemisest video.
