Laserkiir ergastab ligikaudu 90 kilomeetri k\u00f5rgusel naatriumi aatomeid, mis hakkavad kiirgama kollast valgust. Teleskoobis\u00fcsteemi tarkvara kasutab seej\u00e4rel kunstt\u00e4hte otsustamaks, kuidas valgus atmosf\u00e4\u00e4ri l\u00e4bides hajub. <\/p>\n<p>Seda omakorda saab aga arvestada reaalsetel astronoomilistel vaatlustel muidu h\u00e4guste piltide teravdamiseks. Protsessi tuntakse laserjuhitava kohandatava optika nime all ning seda kasutatakse maapealsete teleskoopide juures j\u00e4rjest enam ja enam.
