Nii nagu Maa puhul, hakkavad ka Kuu gravitatsiooniv&auml;lja m&otilde;&otilde;tma kaks satelliiti, mis l&auml;hestikku tiireldes vahetavad raadiosignaale ja m&otilde;&otilde;davad sel teel suure t&auml;psusega kaugust teineteisest. Kogutavad andmed v&otilde;imaldavad &quot;vaadata&quot; Kuu sisse ja tuvastada sinna langenud meteoriite, aga ka Maa kaaslase suuremastaabilist sisestruktuuri. Selle tundmine aitaks kaasa Kuu tekkimise m&otilde;istmisele &#8211; praegu ei ole &uuml;heselt selge, kas Kuul on selgelt eristuv tuum, vahev&ouml;&ouml; ja koor. Kaugemas tulevikus loodetakse samal p&otilde;him&otilde;ttel uurida juba eksootilisemaid objekte, eelk&otilde;ige Marssi.
