Measurement of the B_{s}^{0} →μ^{+} μ^{−} Branching Fraction and Effective Lifetime and Search for B^{0} →μ^{+} μ^{−} Decays

The LHCb Collaboration reports the first observation of the $B_s^0\to {\mu }^{+}{\mu }^{-}$ decay from a single experiment. The result is the the most precise measurement of its branching fraction to date.
